March 2018

It was an interrupted month with lots of snow days and staying in our pjs to read all day. Allie and Abrie came for a visit, we celebrated my Mom's birthday as well as the Ides of March, worked on our friends house, prepped for Easter, and started investigating music lessons for Henri (which will probably be postponed until the fall at this point).

He's a pretty solid creature of habit. Oatmeal every morning.

Waiting for their tea to cool; neither kid likes cocoa much, and they have coffee on the regular, so tea was a huge treat after playing all morning in the snow.

They were out long before we adults got up and didn't waste a second of their snow days.

Ides of March! We dressed in togas, read a ton of adaptations of Julius Caesar, and had friends over for a Roman feast.

The party favors were Roman tic-tac-toe games

Library at Hen's school. The kids have been working on this igloo almost all year

Cousins. My kids suddenly looked so old, and I really wish we lived closer so we could see him on the regular. So much fun to have them, no matter how briefly!

While working on the house Brett made the kids swords. Construction scraps are the best treasure.

I hate painting. With a passion. But we've been praying for this house for way too long so we'll do whatever it takes to get them moved in. (and Brett opened up the beams so the ceilings are super high and it's going to look awesome!)

Monday we were in VT and it was hot and we made a snow fort.

Henri discovered "Ella Enchanted" and was, of course, enchanted. We were there to celebrate Mom's birthday, and then I didn't take any pictures. But we'll see her again soon and can do the official portrait then.

Got home on Thursday and went to a Passion Play and kids loved it.
April is packed with plans, so I should have more to relate then. Meanwhile I'm trying to recover from the excesses of the Easter weekend!
